I didn’t just study
this market.

I live in it.

I’m Jim, founder of My Resort Host.

Built from inside the RV resort world

Seven years ago, my wife, Lynn, and I traded our sticks-and-bricks life for full-time RV travel. Four years ago, we purchased a lot at Outdoor Resort Indio, where we now spend our winters.

Living and traveling in the RV community has given me a firsthand understanding of what guests value, what prospective renters and owners want to know, and what resort teams manage every day.

A practical business background

Before RV life, I spent twenty years at 3M in key account and channel management roles, working closely with businesses in the RV and marine industries.

That experience taught me how to listen to customers, support sales channels, build lasting relationships, and turn genuine interest into productive conversations—all without losing the personal connection behind the business.

Hands-on resort experience

At Outdoor Resort Indio, I’ve taken an active role in the community as a volunteer Resort Host. I’ve provided customized tours for prospective renters and lot owners, supported marketing committee initiatives, and helped establish a Welcome Program, for rental guests and new owners which include welcome visits, gifts and bi-weekly parties.

That work has allowed me to see resort operations from several perspectives: guest, renter, owner, prospect, volunteer, and host.

It has also shown me how often resort employees and volunteers need fast access to accurate information—especially when handling guest questions, sales inquiries, operating procedures, or situations that require escalation.

Why I built My Resort Host

Almost every day, I see how much resort time goes into answering the same questions repeatedly. Guests want immediate information about check-in, amenities, rules, pets, Wi-Fi, events, and local recommendations.

At the same time, prospective renters and owners may visit a resort’s website after the office has closed. They have questions, show real interest, and then leave without speaking to anyone. By the time the office reopens, that opportunity may be gone.

Resort teams face a different challenge. Policies and procedures may exist, but employees and volunteers still need to locate the right information, understand the approved response, and know when and how to escalate an issue.

My Resort Host was created to address all three needs:

  • Give guests accurate, resort-approved answers around the clock.

  • Turn website interest into qualified leads, callback requests, and scheduled conversations through calendar integration.

  • Give resort employees and volunteers fast access to approved procedures and escalation guidance.

The goal isn’t to replace resort staff or automate the human relationships at the heart of hospitality. It’s to help teams respond more quickly, give promising opportunities timely follow-through, and make the right information easier to access—so resort staff can spend more time doing what they do best: taking care of people.

Built for the right resorts

My Resort Host isn’t intended to be a one-size-fits-all chatbot. Each solution is trained around the individual resort—its property, policies, amenities, procedures, priorities, and local knowledge.

That’s also why I only work with resorts where I genuinely believe it’s a good fit. The technology should solve a real operational or sales problem, support the people already doing the work, and improve the experience for everyone involved.
